Have you seen any Japanese movie scene where someone receives a phone and say Moshi Moshi (an abbreviation of ‘mosu mosu’) ? Moshi Moshi can mean hello or hi but why must say moshi moshi twice?

Based on the story, the ghost can only say it once. So you have to say it twice to prove you're not a ghost. In Japan called 妖怪 (youkai)
So what if one day there is a ghost who is calling you and you answer it moshi (not by moshi moshi)? It is said they will steal your soul.
